Code.X Hosts Online Summer School to Support Gazan High School Students

Gaza, Palestine - July 12, 2024 - In response to the ongoing educational challenges facing high school students in Gaza, Code.X is proud to host a special online Gaza Summer School program for summer 2024. This initiative is designed to bridge critical learning gaps and provide continued educational opportunities for 11th and 12th grade students in the region.

The online Summer School is an experimental program that leverages a combination of Zoom, YouTube, and WhatsApp to accommodate evacuated students as well as those still residing in Gaza. The program is spearheaded by a Code for Palestine Gaza graduate who is now attending Stanford University, demonstrating the importance of investing in educational initiatives that empower young Palestinian leaders.

The Gaza Summer School will run for 6 weeks from July 15 to August 23, 2024. Students have the option to enroll in up to 4 courses, including:

  • ACT Math & Intro to Calculus

  • ACT English & Personal Statements

  • Mobile Development (React Native)

  • Intro to AI & Creative Programming

The severe disruptions to high school education in Gaza over the past year have been devastating for students' academic progress and future prospects. The Gaza Summer School program is Code.X’s way of ensuring that Gazan students can continue developing the critical skills and knowledge needed to succeed, even amidst the ongoing challenges they face. By bridging educational gaps, providing additional practice in high-demand subjects, and allowing program alumni to continue their studies with Code.X, Code.X is proud to uphold its commitment to its Gazan students and continue to invest in their success.
