Code for Palestine was an incredible experience - I had been looking for ways to bring design teaching to high school students and educate on the career opportunities in this industry. With recent events, I was also looking for ways to give back to and help uplift the Palestinian community and this opportunity was the perfect intersection of both. I jumped in last minute, and the camp required serious time and energy commitments but it was easily one of the most rewarding things from this summer! Seeing the students grow in confidence and having a sense of purpose at the end was heart-warming. Finally, working with some of the most passionate instructors I've met who share the same purpose and passion was exactly what my quarantine summer needed.
