What You’ll Bring

Requirements

  • College senior or recent graduate with a strong interest in education, international development, or a related field.

  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills in English.

  • Proficiency in Google Docs and online research tools.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Bilingualism in English and Arabic is highly preferred.

About GSSN

GSSN is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting students who have been displaced within and outside of Gaza to continue their education. We offer critical programs like application support, online learning platforms, coordination for university placement, and scholarships. We are in the early stages of building out our organizational systems and this internship is an opportunity to have a major impact.

Volunteering Timeline

  • May 2024 to October 2024

  • 10-20 hours per week

Responsibilities

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in the non-profit sector while making a real difference in the lives of Gazan students. As a GSSN intern, you will work closely with the Executive Director and Development Director on a variety of tasks, including:

  • Resource Compilation: Researching and compiling educational resources for students in and outside of Gaza, including online learning platforms, scholarship opportunities, and mental health support services;

  • Donor Correspondence: Drafting and managing email communication with donors;

  • Communications: Screening and managing inbound communications, and coordinating assignments with counselor network; 

  • Systems: Propose and help implement systems for organizational development;

  • Research: Assisting with research on educational needs in Gaza, potential program development, and grant opportunities;

  • Program Development: Contributing to the development and implementation of new programs and initiatives to support Gazan students.
