    Code.X, co-sponsor Lotus Education, and local host Salahaldin International School - Cairo (SIS-Cairo) are piloting a new flagship program in New Cairo. Teach a classroom of high school students in grades 9 and 10 as a volunteer instructor for Code For Egypt this summer!

    2024 Travel Dates: Saturday, July 13 - Tuesday, July 30

    • July 13: Fly into Cairo and travel to accommodations

    • July 14: Meet the teaching team and prepare for classes

    • July 15-28: Code For Egypt summer camp classes

    • July 29: Teaching team sightseeing in Cairo

    • July 30: Fly out of Cairo

    Code.X and Canadian-Ukrainian charity Help Us Help are piloting a new 12-month program in Western Ukraine. Teach a classroom of high school students in grade 10 as a volunteer instructor in Lviv this summer. Code for Ukraine is an overnight summer camp for students, instructors, and TAs, so the experience includes a substantial amount of after-class mentorship and extracurricular bonding with students.

    Advisory: Code.X and Help Us Help will be monitoring program safety continuously and will alert all applicants if there are changes to our ability to host the program.

    2024 Travel Dates: Friday, July 5 - Monday, July 22

    • July 5: Fly into Warsaw and gather as a cohort

    • July 6: Train from Warsaw to Lviv and travel to accommodations

    • July 7: Meet the teaching team and prepare for classes

    • July 8-21: Code For Ukraine summer camp classes

    • July 22: Train to Warsaw and fly out

  • Description

    Teach a classroom of high school students in grades 9, 10, or 11 as a volunteer instructor for Code.X and local nonprofit alphaPlan’s Code for Albania summer camp! Work and bond closely with your classroom for 2 weeks in Albania’s small mountain town of Korçë. Code for Albania is an overnight summer camp for students, instructors, and TAs, so the experience includes a substantial amount of after-class mentorship and extracurricular bonding with students.

    • July 13: Fly into Tiranë and travel to Korçë accommodations

    • July 14: Meet the teaching team and prepare for classes

    • July 15-26: Code For Albania summer camp classes

    • July 27: Teaching team retreat in Pogradec

  • Description

    Mentor students as a volunteer instructor for AlNayzak, a Palestinian education nonprofit based in Jerusalem. Work with their Horizons Academy high school students in Grades 9, 10, and 12. Horizons Academy is an overnight summer camp for students, instructors, and TAs, so the experience includes a substantial amount of after-class mentorship and extracurricular bonding with students.

    Advisory: Due to the ongoing and escalating violence occurring across Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza, instructor ability to attend in-person will be assessed continuously over the next few months. If travel is not an option by April, there will be remote opportunities to support the Horizons Academy students during their summer school from July 14-18. We will alert all applicants if there are any last-minute changes in program implementation.

    • July 19-20: Teaching team sightseeing in Palestine and Israel

    • July 21: Fly out from Tel Aviv

    Passport Requirements: Valid passport, not expiring within 6 months of the start of the program, and ability to receive a tourist visa into Israel
